All there is to be aware of regarding Amazon’s New World MMO

This guide provides all information that was published about New World up until beta. The game is currently being in the public test phase and the it’s launch date nearing it’s time to stop changing it, but have instead made a number of guides that are completely new. Check out all our guides, or start with this guide: the Ultimate Beginner Guide.

Amazon’s New World MMO takes place in Aeternum, a mystical island that is the home of darkness. The latest wave of explorers, players face not only the dangerous and corrupted island’s fauna, but also dead remains of previous explorations, that have been waiting for centuries.

There is another reason so many people are drawn to Aeternum: Azoth – the same substance that can corrupt anyone who comes in contact with it – is also a powerful and rare substance that plays a crucial part in the game because it empowers opponents, players and even objects.

The game was originally framed during the colonization period of the mid-1600s however, it has since moved to a more fantasy-oriented setting. As an “Open World”-MMO it seeks to differentiate itself among other gaming online by offering players a huge world to explore and a lot of freedom in the way they play.

Although the word “survival” is frequently brought up when describing New World, the few survival elements that the game had in previous iterations have since been removed and the game has changed to more traditional MMO features.

When players travel around across the world, they’ll encounter not just wildlife, but many undead and supernatural adversaries. Their most formidable foe is a group known as”the “Corrupted”. They are cultists who are empowered by the old corruption of the island, who have constructed fortifications and are seeking to destroy or imprison everyone living on the island.

Combat was inspired by Dark Souls, meaning there are no tab-targeting features like in other MMO games. Instead, combat lets you freely engage enemies using aimed attacks with blocking, dodging and general positioning and timing becoming the key elements in PvE and PvP fights. Weapons with range also need to be directed manually, and the same goes for magical attacks. There is player collision.

Gathering and crafting are essential to the game, along with combat and exploration. They are described in greater detail in the sections below. A further major area of focus is territorial control as well as mass sieges – either against other players , or hundreds of Corrupted.

There aren’t any traditional classes to play the game. You gain experience and gain experience, you can also level up like other players in various other MMO games, attribute and skill points are easily distributed to whatever you want to focus on. There are roles that are more traditional, such as tank, healer or DPS within the games, through the customization of equipment and character instead of pre-determined classes and capabilities.

Players can earn experience from various sources, including killing mobs, finishing damaged breaches, undertakings collecting, crafting, completing main story quests, side quests, town projects or faction missions.

Progression methods in the New World are Weapon Mastery and Trade Skills, Faction Reputation, Territory Standing and PVP.

The level of mastery you gain through the use of a particular weapon and there are 38 skills to get for each weapon. When you kill any monster with an weapon, the weapon is upgraded with mastery XP. Over time you gain the possibility of earning up to 19 points in skill when you increase the mastery. The ability can be unlocked with these points. The last feature in each tree requires you to spend 10 points to unlock the previous levels within the tree, meaning that you’re only able to unlock one tree while still being able to spend certain points on the other.

There are more than a dozen different tradeskills.

When players reach a certain level at a higher level, they have the option of spending attribute points for Strength dexterity, intelligence, Focus, and Constitution. They increase the damage of their weapons and cooldowns on abilities, as well as mana regeneration and health pool.

You could, for instance, focus on armored and shields that are heavy and take the role of an offensive fighter. Or you can use leather and bow and stay close to your armored counterparts as you engage enemies from range. Magical life staves let you assume a support role, and all these roles can be combined and matched with the free skill system. A plate armor wielding battlemage is possible within New World. The system allows you to specialize as you see fit through Weapon Masteries or ignore combat skills and achieve the status of Master Craftsman/Trader. It is possible to change your spec to start for free, and then later by paying a fee. This allows players to play with different combinations before choosing their choice, or even change their build completely later in the game.

Attributes have thresholds that they offer additional bonuses. For instance, if you invest 50 points strengthening, you gain 15% additional damage to melee-based light attacks, and also a 10% speed of mining bonus. Thresholds are at 50, 100 150, 200, 250 and 300 points . These can significantly alter gameplay by altering or enhancing basic mechanics like stamina, damage or regneration. All thresholds for attributes are listed in detail as part of the March patch’s notes.

It’s not currently feasible to have at least one player on a server. This is due to the system of factions and because the class-less system reduces the need in alt characters (alternate characters) like in the case of a class-based MMO.

PvP is one of the major aspects of New World even though it has undergone a number of changes since the first version that the game was released. There is the possibility to engage in PvP with other players or engage in massive battles for territorial control, it’s also possible to opt out completely of PvP.

PvP is still a focus for the player, though it’s only legitimate, consensual and skill-based battles, not the kind of griefing and killing of players that was seen in the first beta.

New World now has a PvP opt-in system. You can only switch between PvP-enabled/-disabled in your player house or a settlement, then venture out into the world either completely safe from others or able to freely engage those who have also enabled PvP. To be eligible to PvP, you need to have at least level 10 and have joined an alliance.

The Criminal System that was in the previous versions has been eliminated.

The players do not drop objects after death, a difference from previous versions.

There aren’t going to be PvP servers At least not till the release.

The decision to join PvP offers bonuses, such as an increase of 10% in experience to provide incentive for the greater risk. However, the risk is low as compared with other games due to the lack of the possibility of dropping items upon the death of a player. The main downside of being killed is losing the durability of your gear and having repaired parts to repair damaged gear.

PvP is highly skill-based due to its action-based nature, and the player’s stats and attributes don’t play an as significant role as in other games. Even the 10 levels difference between player levels is thought to be easily overcome, meaning players at lower levels should be able to beat the higher level player only by skill.

Open World PvP is mostly driven by PvP faction missions in the period of the preview event, which take players to particular locations. In those missions, gamers have to be identified for PvP, and dying can reset the progress of their mission. When a player kills another player, it can earn experience, faction tokens gold, or even items depending on the length of time the victim is in the process of being flagged and alive. The players do not lose their items when they fight in PvP.

Duel systems were added in the update to December 2020 and permits an organized PvP with up to 5 players per side.

Outpost Rush was added in March 2021 and features an arena for 20v20 on another map.

Forts were added as open world PvP targets in April 2021. They can be now fought and conquered by any faction. To conquer a territory it is necessary for a faction to contain more players than any other faction inside the fort’s control point for a specified period of time. Being in control of a fort gives the entire faction with a 5% increased experience gain and 20% more influence gains in the territory.

Outpost Rush is a distinct 20 vs.20 battleground, where two teams battle for 3 outposts, as well as several goals. The players must be at least level 60 to sign up in Outpost Rush and can queue on their own or in a group with up to 5 players.

The purpose in this mode of battle is to get the number of points your team can earn. where outposts generate 1 point every 3 seconds , and every kill of a player earns 1 point.

Players have to gather infused resources around the map and use them to upgrade or build additional structures and defenses such as gates, security wards (respawn points) or siege weapons. Infused resources drop on death.

There are several objectives available on the map that permit players to gather powerful allies or fight against bosses who give strategic buffs upon killing.

The players can reap special rewards with Outpost Rush-specific named armor and weapons.

There are four principal enemy factions in the New World.

The Lost are creatures that resemble zombies. They are the remains of previous wanderers who became stranded in Aeternum.

“The Angry Earth are Dryads, creatures and other elements of nature, who attempt to counter the human invaders.

The Ancients are the remains of an ancient civilization that existed on Aeternum in the past, who left behind pyramids and temples as structures.

The Corrupted are possessed by Azoth and are mounting invasions against the people who have settled in the.

Another feature that we already have knowledge of is Invasions, where hordes of undead or corrupted creatures will assault player settlements.

Corrupted Breaches are world events which occur in the territories of they have become corrupted and offer extra PvE content. Players are required to eliminate several waves of enemies before they can make the breach secure with an Azoth staff infused with Azoth. Breaches come in various difficulties and while some are performed by one person, some require a team of players to face.

Dungeons are now available to New World as part of the February 2021 update. They are referred to as “Expeditions” within the game and provide the most challenging content for groups of 3-5 players. The first of the expeditions that was revealed was Amrine Temple. Another expedition called Garden of Genesis was revealed in March 2021.

New World will have PvE arenas, that will include boss fights and are designed to be challenging PvE games for groups of 5 players. This requires a balanced team of melee and skilled DPS and a healer.

To enter an arena in the New World, players will have to first find a key. Keys will drop from monsters or be attainable by other means. If one person with the key is near the entrance to the arena then the entire group will be teleported inside for as the players are within. Once inside, players only have a set period of time before their attempt to defeat the boss is over. If they don’t succeed they’ll be sent to the outside and forced to search for a key.

The first arena that’s been revealed is a nature-themed and pits players against the Spriggan, a high level boss who is a member of the Angry Earth faction. The Spriggan’s attacks deal large amounts of stamina and can break through blocks with ease. The Spriggan also has the ability to switch between melee and ranged attacks and is able to form a healing shield which can be a challenge for the team to break quickly before the Spriggan could regenerate too many health. By defeating the Spriggan gives players an abundance of loot, as well as a chance to get a coveted item, among the top equipment available found in New World.
