Clan Destined Reborn

by Garwulf on December 20, 2011 · 1 comment

The guild is back folks, but it has a new name… < Clan Destined Reborn >

The reason for the name change is because Blizz won’t allow the same name that’s been used by another guild on the server for a period of at least 90 days. Once the three months are up, I’ll most likely change it back to our original moniker.

As of this post, I’ve gotten Blaq, Matt and Groidica re-guilded, but for the rest of you that want back in, just send one of us a tell and we’ll get you home.

Groidica was super-cool and made a generous deposit of 1K gold into the guild bank today in order to help with the rebuilding efforts. :D

Matt, you can go ahead and PvP some more on Kul Tiras, as I’ve turned on guild repairs. ;)

The Guild Re-Transfer Snag…

Reputation has been reset, but this can be fixed. If you return to CD and find that you’re neutral again – don’t panic. Just submit a ticket in-game and a GM will get you sorted. I had a discussion with a GM today about this and they were able to get the situation remedied. Our guild has been noted so that if any of you want to send in a ticket to have your rep restored, a GM should be able to get you taken care of pretty easily.

Just be sure you do not join another guild if you plan to return to CD and have your rep restored.

Well, that’s about it for now… just wanted to let you guys know that Clan Destined is back and ready for the next chapter…

Guild Re-Transfer

by Garwulf on December 19, 2011 · 0 comments

I’m moving the guild back to Kul Tiras today at some point. Prior to the move I’ll have to disband the placeholder guild we’re all in now. This is so we can retain the name, otherwise I could keep both guilds active and just invite people over as they log on, but…I’d prefer not to have to change the name, then pay another fee to change it back later.

I’ll be appointing Blaquespell as interim GM once the guild is back on KT. I’m not certain, but there may be a couple day cooldown on promotions for new invites, so Blaq may be the guy to hit up for re-invites right after the transfer. Once I’m able to be given GM, Blaq will then hand it back and we’ll move ahead as planned. That is…unless he gets power-hungry and mutinous, and g-kicks me in a hostile takeover.

Blizzard was not at all helpful when it came to addressing my concerns about lost reputation and so forth, so I’m just going to assume that those of you re-joining will resume at your previous level of reputation. Just don’t – for any reason – join a different guild first or it will wipe your saved rep.

Those of you that want a re-invite, just send a tell to either Blaq or myself and we’ll get you home.

A Quick Update

Clan Destined

Hey folks, sorry it’s been a few weeks since the last post, but I’ve been busy with work, family, the holidays, and of course…my little hunter site.

I just wanted to let you all know that I wil be transferring the guild back to Kul Tiras sometime during the second week of December. Blizz imposes a 30 day ‘cooldown’ on guild transfers, which means I can’t bring it back until 30 days have elapsed since the hijacking…lol…sorry, Iomain, but I couldn’t resist. ;)

Once the guild is back on Kul Tiras, I’ll then have to disband it and re-invite those of you that wish to continue on with Clan Destined – which I’m assuming is most of you, considering you’ve stuck around this long. Unfortunately, this process is going to orphan many of our inactive members, but it is what it is…not much I can do about it. The guild we’re in right now is only ‘Clan Destined’ in name — the real Clan Destined is sitting on Dragonblight right now, awaiting transfer back to KT. Once the guild is back, we all have to then rejoin it, at which point we can start picking up the pieces and moving forward.

So…get ready to start donating all of your gold, mats and crafted items. :)

If any of you know how to reach any of our possibly-returning-inactive-veterans, please let them know what’s going on. I’d hate for any of these returning players to get the impression they were kicked for not being around, so if you have an opportunity to get the message out I’d appreciate it.

At any rate… it may not seem like much is happening, but that’s because we’re in a holding pattern. Things are moving forward, however, so just sit tight for a bit. I’ll have more announcements as the transfer back draws nearer.

So What’s Happened to Clan Destined?

Clan Destined Update

Some of you may be wondering what’s going on with the guild, so I’ll update you as best I can.

Clan Destined is heading into yet another rebuilding phase. ;)

Due to member inactivity and lack of interest in guild activities, Seumas elected to move Clan Destined over to Dragonblight, where he does the majority of his playing these days. Unfortunately, I was unaware of his motives, along with the repercussions of this move. I’d been one of the many players who’d been less active over the past several months. However, that’s not to say I hadn’t been around at all… just not enough to be privy to the latest guild rumblings, gossip and so forth. Plus, I tend to keep to myself quite a bit, as some of you may know.

At any rate… upon realizing that Clan Destined had now become a 180 member, level 1 perk-less guild with no bank tabs, I grew a little concerned. Then, when I became aware of Seumas’ level 25 Clan Destined on Dragonblight, loaded with guild perks for its 2 member roster, my concern grew to alarm.

…And I may have called Seumas a few names. ;)

Obscenities

I wasn’t “freaking out” over this whole incident, but it really seemed a shame to watch the guild go down in flames like this – especially when it wasn’t really necessary. Sure, many players had been, and still are inactive, but that’s not to say they won’t ever come back. If some of these inactive players decide to return for Mists of Pandaria, I certainly woud like to maintain a welcome home for them in Clan Destined… ON KUL TIRAS.

You just don’t move a guild, FFS..! unless a majority of the core group decides that’s what’s best. This whole guild transfer system is fucked, and I certainly made a point to let Blizzard know just how flawed (i.e., fucked) it is in my support ticket.

Anyway… Seumas and I have had a chance to chat a few times and all is well. It’s unfortunate what’s happened with the guild on KT, but it wasn’t really anyone’s fault. Seumas mistakenly thought no one cared, and I was partly to blame for being probably the only semi-active player left who could have prevented it, and didn’t. The players that did know about the planned transfer were likely either naive to the whole transfer fallout, or maybe just felt apathetic about the guild, and the game in general, I dunno.

I do know this, though. I give a shit.

I’ve been a part of Clan Destined since day one, and in fact, I was the first signature on the guild charter. I may not be the most active player these days, but there’s a good chance I’ll be playing WoW until Blizzard shuts down the severs. That said, I want to “retire” as a member of Clan Destined. CD has been a great guild, and has attracted many quality people over the years. Many of these people have gone on to other guilds, become dirty hordies, or left the game entirely, but I feel that as long as I am still around I can at least keep the spirit of the guild alive and the lights on. ;)

Guild first Sapphiron

Misty water-colored memories...of the way we were.

It’s unknown whether the guild will ever regroup and build up steam after all of this, but regardless… I’ll be here manning the fort and doing what I’ve always done, which is simply enjoying the game. If Clan Destined’s roster dwindles down to a few dozen players, then so be it. I’d prefer to not see that happen, but more important than anything to me is just keeping the guild alive.

In closing, I hope that many of you will decide to stick around. I’ll do my best to try and facilitate the growth, prosperity and progression of the guild, but I’m gonna need some help. ;) My intention is to rule this guild by committee, which means I am definitely looking for officers who wish to assist with the guild administration and day-to-day. I am all for scheduling events, crushing raid content, and especially… organized guild PvP outings, but I don’t have the time to spare for all of this.

My intention is to be GM in name only, having absolute power over the guild solely for the sake of preserving its best interests. I’ll also provide us with a kickass website and some type of voice server, if we get back to raiding again or start organizing rated BGs.

In the meantime… until the guild’s back on Kul Tiras next month – and I’ve had a chance to assess member loyalty and interest – I’ll be posting occasional updates here and on our facebook group page (which I just found out about days ago). Seems I’ve been a little out of the loop.

The Guildlaunch site has been dead for months and months, and I’d just assume nail the coffin shut on that era and begin anew. I’ll improve and maintain this site as a hub for updates, news and events, unless we start becoming more active, then I’ll consider going with a premium paid guild portal service if necessary.

If people are motivated to recruit new players and get us back on track, then I’ll certainly provide the tools and leadership to make that happen.

Who's with me..?

So who’s with me..?! :D
