Best Runescape Mining training Guide
This article is about ways that members train the Mining skill. For other methods of training Mining, check out Free-to-play mining training.
This guide describes the most efficient pay-to-play strategies to train your Mining ability. The estimations of experience rates included in the guide presume the finest pickaxe available is being used at the stated Mining level and don’t include the use of any experience boosting items or bonus experience. The guide also assumes that players do not deposit the ores they collect. Banking ores decreases the amount of experience players can gain per hour and since most ore is not worth much it is generally unworthy of the amount taken from mining-related training. Players using the Evolution of Combat mode can drop ore by adding the ore to their action bar and pressing the keybind that is associated in order to release the ore. Instead of dropping items straight from the inventory using their right-click drop options dropping them via the action bar doesn’t disrupt mining.
Mining is a collecting skill that typically involves the collection of minerals from various kinds of ore rocks. Ore rocks are often found in groups at mining sites. Players can also occasionally obtain uncut sapphires, emeralds rubies and diamonds while mining. A pickaxe is required when mining. As you progress in the Mining skill, it will increase the speed of players gaining more resources and gain experience when mining. When players get more advanced, they also have the ability to make use of higher quality pickaxes. For the highest experience rates possible they are strongly advised to utilize the best pickaxe available to them.
Pickaxes
In addition to the Mining level requirements, pickaxes require certain Attack levels to be wielded. However players can use a pickaxe without equipping it, as pickaxes held in the inventory or tool belts are automatically used for mining. Once a tool is added to the tool belt it is not able to be removed but users can add a better quality pickaxe to their tool belts, if the pickaxe currently stored in the belt is inferior to the one they are adding. It is possible for players to add pickaxes that they do not currently have the appropriate level of Mining that they can use to their belt. If the pickaxe that is stored in a player’s tool belt requires a higher level of Mining to use than the level the player currently has, the tool will be considered the top possible pickaxe available at the current level of Mining.
Augmented pickaxes
Leveled players with at least 22 Invention are able to discover ways to improve pickaxes. This allows players to create augmented crystal pickaxes as well as upgraded dragon pickaxes through the use of augmentors on crystal pickaxes or dragon pickaxes. Pickaxes stored on the player’s tool belt can be enhanced through a conversation with Doc at Doc’s Invention Guild. At the same Invention stage, players can discover ways to make tool gadgets. A tool gizmo may be added to an enhanced pickaxe to give it perks. The following perks may be useful to players training mining:
To benefit from an augmented pickaxe’s benefits, the user must have costs in their charges pack. Utilizing an enhanced crystal pickaxe will cost at most 0.31 divine charges from the charge pack per second and the use of an augmented dragon pickaxe can cost as much as 0.21 Divine charges for each second. The cost could be cut by researching charge drain improvements or by adding the efficient bonus to an item.
The Wise perk can also be applied to an offhand weapon or shield and offer bonus experiences regardless, which allows players to get two benefits on their pickaxes, in conjunction with their outfits for skill.

Only one part of the suit can be obtained per encounter, and the pieces are obtained in the order of gloves, boots pants, top. It can take around 3-5 hours of mining to discover a gold liquid Nymph. If all pieces of the set are worn, an additional bonus effect is offered. If a person has Varrock armour and all of the pieces of the golden mining suit, players will receive the effects of the Varrock armour, while wearing the complete gold mining suit.
Starfury costumes
Parts of starfury outfits could be made by mixing starfire outfit pieces and diamonds from the starborn, which are available at Treasure Hunter between the 9th and 14th September 2015. In addition, they benefit from the identical pieces of the gold mining suit, in the event that they are owned.

This outfit gives greater benefits than those provided by other golem outfits. Alongside the benefits listed above, players gain the following bonuses from wearing a magic golem outfit:
Chance of success in mining an asset is increased to 77% (as opposed to the standard 5%).

Urns
Urns are a great way to acquire additional Mining experiences while working. If stored inside the game’s inventory urns are filled by the player as he mines ore. Only experience gained from base counts towards filling the urn. Additional experience granted from using Crystallise and/or Light Form currently counts towards filling the urn of a miner. Urns that are full can be teleported away to receive an additional amount of experience, which is equivalent to 20 percent of the Mining experience gained while filling the urn. One urn can be filled at a given time but players can own up to a total of 10 full urns. If a player has 10 full mining urns , they must teleport at least 1 away before filling additional Urns. Urns can only be traded in their (nr), non-runed, forms. In order to utilize an urn that is mined, players must add an earth rune to it. This makes the urn untradeable.
The players who have at least level 24 Invention , and are finished with Nomad’s Elegy can discover how to create an urn enhancer. In the inventory of the player the urn enhancer will grant 25% more experience in exchange for traveling to a full urn. This is a cost of 20 dollars from the player’s charge pack. If the player buys divine charges from the Grand Exchange, it would cost 804.55 to use the urn enhancer while teleporting an Urn. If a player mines granite using an easy form and crystallise at level 99 Mining would earn around 169,500 base experience an hour. If using decorated mining urns the player will gain 33,900 extra experience an hour, with an additional 8,475 experience when using an urn enhancer. The cost would be around 43,638.79 an hour in divine fees.

The lower rock-crushing scrimshaw has the chance of crushing ore to increase experience. It require level 70 mining to utilize. The lower scrimshaw can be traded at 935,516, which will last for 3 hours. The more powerful rock-crushing scrimshaw offers a 20% chance of crushing an ore to gain more experience and requires Level 80 Mining to utilize. The superior scrimshaw lasts for 4 hours , however it is non-tradeable. The players who have reached the level 85 Fletching have the ability to make superior rock-crushing scrimshaws by gathering the 4 pieces of the rock-crushing scroll the minigame port owned by the player. The superior scrimshaw can then be created from 10 ancient bones.
The additional experience gained by the crushing of an ore by scrimshaw can be equated to a fraction of the experience that is normally gained upon mining the ore. The amount of experience gained varies depending on the type of crushed ore. Inferior and superior scrimshaws award similar amounts of experience. Scrimshaws that crush rock do not impact mining in Seren stones, but do affect mining at the concentrated rocks. Additional experience gained from gold ore or coal being crushed by a scrimshaw will be identical no matter if the ore is extracted by crushing a concentrated or normal ore rock. If the scrimshaw crushing rocks crushes an ore at the same time as the player obtains two ore deposits at the same time due to the concentrated rock’s double ore effect, then the scrimshaw can grant extra experience only for one ore. While mining concentrated gold rocks players can expect to gain around 2,150-2,800 additional experience an hour using an inferior rock-crushing scrimshaw and approximately 2,850-3,700 extra experience per hour with a more powerful scrimshaw, depending on your mining level.

Just like the best mining potions from juju, regular juju mining potions give players the chance of finding a stone that grants the player an additional 10% mining experience, and also allow players to bank any ores the player mines for 30 seconds. However, the stone spirits that spawn through the effects of a regular juju mining potion are not able to melt the minerals mined by players. Each dose of the Juju mining potion is five minutes, as opposed to one hour for every dose of a perfect juju mining potion.
Skillchompas are tools that can be used in place of a pickaxe in mining, allowing a mining rate that is similar to the pickaxe type they are equivalent to. If they are equipped or stored in the player’s inventory skillchompas are consumed each time a player’s character tries to mine, regardless of whether the action is unsuccessful in the process of obtaining an ore. If a person is able to gain experience while mining using a skillchompa they’ll receive another 10% the normal base experience. If a mining venture fails, the player earns five percent of the bonus experience they would have received had the effort was successful. For instance, when mining gold ore, players get 65 experience for mining gold ore if they’re not using skillchompas. In addition, using skillchompas will grant 71.5 experience after successfully mining gold ore. It also grants 3.25 experience every time a player fails.

This effect lasts for 30 seconds after Crystallise is cast. Once it has been cast, it is impossible to cast Crystallise again until the effect has worn off. If the crystallised rock is being extracted by only the person whom cast Crystallise on it, then it will not be depleted until the effect of Crystallise wears off. If another person is mining from a crystallized rock, it will be depleted as normal however, the Crystallise spell’s effect and duration is suspended until the rock replenishes. If you have at least the level of 80 Prayer, players can utilize the Light Form prayer, which can enhance the effects of Seren aligned spells when activated, thereby increasing the any Mining experience gained from a crystallised ore rock up to 87.5%. Players must consume around 53 doses prayer potion per hour, with level 99 Prayer, to maintain the prayer points required to keep the Light Form activated. Utilizing prayer-renewing potions can assist in regaining certain prayer points. In the course of training Mining using Crystallise players can cast the spell up to 120 times per hour costing 1,210,320 in runes. The cost of this spell can be decreased by using staves to supply the runes needed. Crystallise is not able to be cast on concentrated sandstone, Seren stones and alaea crablets.
Scimshaw for rock-crushing
It is possible to activate rock-crushing scrimshaws to give the player the chance to crush an ore while it is mined. This gives an additional mining experience. The lesser rock-crushing scrimshaw provides a 15% chance of crushing ore to gain experience. It requires the level 70 Mining skill to be used. This depends on the kind of ore that is crushed. Superior and inferior scrimshaws give similar amounts of additional knowledge. Scrimshaws that crush rock do not impact working in Seren stones, however they do alter mining in concentration ore rock. The additional experience gained from coal or gold ore being crushed by a scrimshaw remains the same regardless of whether it was taken through a concentrate or normal ore rock. If the scrimshaw crushing rocks crushes an ore at the same time as the player obtains two ores simultaneously through the concentrated rocks’ Double Ore Effect, the scrimshaw can grant extra experience only for one ore. When mining gold-rich concentrated rocks, players can expect to gain around 2,150-2,800 additional hours of experience using a less powerful rock-crushing scrimshaw, and about 2,850-3700 extra experience for an hour using a better scrimshaw, dependent on the levels of mining.
